Project Nexus was the replacement of the existing UK Link System, which was predominately used for gas supply settlements and supply administration by Xoserve.
Project Nexus enabled a number of industry changes, the overall goal was to increase the efficiency of the UK gas market, and replace out of date, redundant systems and processes.
Independent Gas Transporters (IGTs), are now able to share data with Xoserve. Until now IGTs have been unable to share information using the Xoserve system. This has previously caused inefficiencies in the UK gas market, and gas restricted the visibility of IGT data.
The calculation of a sites AQ has previously been calculated by Xoserve by October. Post-Project Nexus, Xoserve can provide a more accurate AQ every month after a meter reading is submitted by a supplier.
The Formula Year AQ/SOQ have been introduced to help transporters with charging statements. These will be fixed from 01 April to 31 March each year, and will be used to calculate transportation charges. This removes the need for the annual AQ review process, and there will be no AQ review in 2017.
The introduction of UIG replaces the existing allocation of unidentified gas (AUG). Changes have been made in the calculation of unidentified gas to give a more accurate view and charging structure.
Meter points on class 1 will not be charged for UIG. In order for non-daily metered (NDM) and daily metered (DM) supply types to be settled more accurately, four new settlement classes have been introduced:
